Shamrock Shenanigans

Every first Thursday* of every month, the Alumnae Association hosts a Shamrock Shenanigans, a fun social meet-and-greet for all alumnae in the San Antonio area. The get-together is hosted at the bar inside Hotel Estancia del Norte (37 NE Loop 410 At McCullough, San Antonio, TX 78216) from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Enjoy a drink and treats while getting together with your Shamrock sisters.
Career Day – Friday, November 8th, 2024

Starting the 2024-2025 school year, IWHS will host an annual Career Day during the Fall semester. Career Day is an exciting and inspiring event where we invite professionals from our community, especially our accomplished alumnae, to visit our school and share insights about their careers. This special day provides our students with a unique opportunity to learn directly from industry experts and gain a deeper understanding of various career paths. Our guests will share their experiences, challenges, and successes, offering invaluable guidance and motivation. Career Day aims to broaden our students' horizons and inspire them as they consider their future endeavors post-graduation. Join us for a day of discovery, inspiration, and connection with leaders in the professional world.

Homecoming – Saturday, November 9th, 2024

Once a Shamrock, Always a Shamrock. We’re calling all of our alumnae to come back home to the hill. Join us at our annual Homecoming event to celebrate the Shamrock Legacy.

Annual Golf Tournament – April 7, 2025

Tee off with us at our Annual Golf Tournament, a fantastic event dedicated to raising funds for student scholarships! Held every spring, this tournament offers a perfect blend of friendly competition and philanthropy on the greens. Join fellow golf enthusiasts, alumnae, and community supporters for a day of great golfing, networking, and giving back. Enjoy a beautiful day outdoors and a delicious dinner with a raffle that helps our students achieve their educational goals. Swing into action this spring and help us empower our young women for the future.

Monthly Masses

There were some special traditions at the school, like the Changing of the Chairs at the end of the year. Each class had a designated section of chairs during assemblies, and after the seniors graduated, we would all move forward to our new positions. It was always a fun and exciting event with lots of cheering, signs, and noisemakers.

The sense of community and the strong friendships I gained at Incarnate Word High School were special. The teachers and my fellow students were so supportive, encouraging, and inspiring. They wanted us to succeed, and I formed some incredible friendships that I still have to this day…Being in an all-girls school during that adolescent phase worked for me, and I attribute a lot of my confidence to Incarnate Word. When I went to college, I was one of the few students who felt well-prepared, and I credit that to my time at Incarnate Word.
