Growing in Faith

At IWHS, we are committed to nurturing the spiritual growth and faith development of our students. Our faith formation opportunities are designed to inspire and guide students on their journey of faith, fostering a deep connection with God and a strong sense of community. Through a variety of programs, we provide meaningful experiences that encourage spiritual reflection, moral development, and the embodiment of our core values in everyday life.

  • Liturgy

Mass is at the heart of our life at Incarnate Word High School. We embrace the opportunity to gather as a community and celebrate in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Monthly masses are celebrated together with our students, faculty, staff, and administration throughout the year. We are grateful to have the support of priests, deacons, and parish spiritual leaders who assist us in our mission. In addition, we celebrate mass for Holy Days of Obligation and special events. All are welcome to attend these school wide liturgies.
  • Reconciliation

Held Weekly - Every Wednesday in the Mother Pierre Chapel

Reconciliation (officially called the Sacrament of Penance, and also known as Confession) is a Sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ in his love and mercy to offer us forgiveness for the times we have sinned and turned away from God. Students, faculty or staff are welcome to participate in the sacrament of reconciliation on a weekly basis in our Mother Pierre Chapel.
  • Adoration

Eucharistic Adoration is a Catholic devotion dating back to the early days of the Church. It involves exposing a consecrated host, the Blessed Sacrament, allowing people to sit and pray in the presence of Jesus Christ. Students, faculty or staff are welcome to participate in the Adoration on monthly basis in our Mother Pierre Chapel.

  • Prayer Experiences

Mission & Faith Formation, in collaboration with the Peer Ministry team, offers prayer services and develops prayers, motivational messages, videos, or music for students, faculty, staff, and administration. The rosary is offered throughout the year, either online or as an on-campus event. All students, faculty, staff, and administration have an opportunity to take part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Adoration on a monthly basis.
  • Retreats

The retreat experience offers girls an opportunity to witness the power of faith as a whole community. Yearly retreats are held for each class level in collaboration with Peer Ministers and the Senior Director of Mission & Faith Formation. These retreats serve as a time to build relationships and experience the fellowship of a prayerful community experience.
